Prague - Dresden - Wittenberg - Berlin - Wesenberg - Stralsund - Binz; general characteristics. Distance: 1000 km. Climbing: 3530 hm. On aveage less than 300 hm/day. See GPS page for details. The chosen route combines parts of the following signposted cycle routes: Elbe Radweg* from Prague to Wittenberg; Europa-Radweg R1 from Wittenberg to Berlin; Mauer Radweg in Berlin from Brandenburger Tor to Dolomitenstraße; Radferweg Berlin - Usedom from Berlin to Marienwerder; Radfernweg Berlin - Kopenhagen from Zehdenick to Waren; Radfernweg Hamburg - Stralsund from Waren to Stralsund; Ostseeküsten-Radweg from Stralsund to Binz. * The Czech part (Prague-Děčín) is locally known as long distance route no. 2. BikeRouteToaster has been used to construct the part from Marienwerder to Zehdenick. The following pages describe the 13 stages in more detail: 01-05: along the Moldau and Elbe from Prague to Wittenberg (400 km). 06-09: through Brandenburg and Berlin from Wittenberg to Wesenberg (290 km). 10-13: through Mecklenburg-Vorpommern from Wesenberg to Binz, (310 km). GPS tracks of each of the 13 stages are available free of charge. See download page for details. A selection of images gives an impressions of the tour. Outward journey: by CityNightLine train from Utrecht to Prague (Praha Hlavni nadrazi). Return trip: by several local and InterCity trains from Binz to Culemborg. Note that in Germany reservation is required for bike transport in InterCity trains. Oof Oud and Henro de Witt have done the tour in July 2012.
